This webpage gives links to the work of the Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) on the case of Ma Su Su Nwe, a young villager and human rights defender who in 2005 obtained the first conviction of government authorities in Burma for using forced labour.  Ma Su Su Nwe was jailed in October 2005 after a punitive counter-action by the new village authorities.  She has been released from Insein Prison, Rangoon on June 6, 2006.
