Repeal this dictatorial act that is destroying and dividing our country every day. It only nourishes the corrupt power of ruling politicians and helps them unjustifiably stifle dissent and work against the people of the country. It is a highly unpatriotic act.

Dear Mr. President Rajapakse, I have long been watching the tremendous suffering of the people in Sri Lanka with great anxiety. When the government declared the defeat of the LTTE, I hoped that those within Sri Lanka's border would regain the protection of the law, and a sense of peace. Yet this hope has been betrayed by the continued operation of the Prevention of Terrorism Act. There is no longer justification for the PTA, and all it currently achieves is the large-scale deprivation of civilians' rights and the arbitrary use of draconian laws. These leave huge numbers of Sri Lankans without the right to demand humane treatment or legal protection - they lack logic or reason, they are against all principles of equality before the law and for many, they have made Sri Lanka a living hell. I therefore urge the Sri Lankan government to immediately remove this cause of extreme suffering by restoring the rule of law and leaving the judiciary to its work. The judiciary must no longer be undermined by those with arbitrary, extraordinary power, the rule of law must be revived and all people must be given its protection, as is expected within a democracy. Yours sincerely, Jeyaraman. N

Mr.President, If you would like to be remembered in history as a person who has done some good for the country, please relese the most loved person in Sri Lanka,General Sarath Fonseka. You might think because you think you have power, you can write history the way you do things now.Arrest people as you like, send thugs to intimidate even maha sanga. Mr.President, you hopefully may live for another 20 years. Then when you die ,do you think people are going to build statues for you, even if you leave money to build them?.There are no statues for IdiAmin anywhere of the world. Please listen to educated people like my self and not to the idiots like weerawansa your favorite, and the few goons you got. This is a kind advise. If you don't listen,it is not going to affect me as I have now desided to live out of Sri Lanka which all of us loved. There are thousands like me who have made the sad decision of keeping of of your Uganda.Once again please relese this great only Four star General we have with out delay.

I wish u to be reminded of the buddhist phylosophy of Karma. What u do will have the same effect on the next thousands of lives to come, for u n sons. How many years do you think u would be living more / ten max 50 more if u havent done any killings in past lives. Just think what sarath fonseka would do to you n relatives in future lives if he dies with hatrad soon.I admired the way you lead the polictics to win the war. but afterwards you are just showing us...nothing more than sri lankan polititian, who maybe wouldn't have had the vision if not for JVPn sihala urumaya at time. Your perents were not thieves or beggars... so why do u or relatives steal from the poor or middle class/. I think u r sensitive enough know the excalating hunger of the poor. Do u plan to start another 87-89. u know how people suffered. this would be the eventual end the way things r going . or do u want the people to act ignorant the way they do now? Pls just be a good buddist n agood leader so we can come back home.Pls prove us wrong

I hope the President of Sri Lanka realize that by using his all powerful Executrive Powers to buy up opposition members of the Legislature and interfere with the Judiciary he is creating a Dictatorship in my motherland. The absence of free and fair elections without an independent Elections Commission is a crime against humanity and it robs the fundermental right of any citizen to practice his/her franchise according to his choice. We are slowly creeping to a One Party Dictatorship and no one can challenge this Government due to the Present Constitution. The uttarances of some Ministers like Rajitha Senaratne recently where he has openly stated that the Government will buy the UNP Members of Parliament after the 8 th. April to have a 2/3 majority are signs that the Rajapakse regime will establish a Dictatorship by passing a new Constitution.I will not be surprised if President Rajapakse who is obsessed with Power declares himself President for Life after the 8 th.April
1300. Gamini Bambaradeniya Self, Australia
General Sarath Fonseka is a war hero in the eyes of the people of Sri Lanka. This is a personal grudge between Gotabaya Rajapaksha and SF. Why President take dragged it to this level. It is pitty. You must follow Buddha
