Stop the war. Stop the genocide

This is the most pathetic performas of a community called UN ,who jsut watching the genocide.The Buddist countries like Japan,Vietnam and China is busy in getting two oppurtunity covered creating a 100% Buddist country with out Tamil population and also have good sale of their heavy weapons on use there at all times.

This is another holocaust that has happened while the world sat silently and did nothing!

The state terror carried out by the Mahinda Rajapakse administration should be stopped. Arbitrary arrest, undue detention and torture should be investigated. The grassroots civil society in Sri Lanka has to developed socially and politically.

Tamils are not a minority. Tamils are a nation

Human right violation committed by any of the organization whether it was LTTE or the SriLankan govt or army should be probed thoroughly and the victims should get solace by the severe punishment given to the violators. Moreover human rights commission should look after that all the survivors of the war and displacd should be re-united and settled in their native places.

All Tamils should be treated with respect and rehabilated with self respect. The Srilankan government should return their properties and help them restore their peaceful life back without any humiliation.

Poor state of humanitarian and injustice leadership getting involve to making no future no hope of best interest of country's wisdom. We would not like it's happen. So, Srilankan Government specially president Mahinda Brothers have to drive good direction. Even International community not allow failing human rights any country. I think IC also stop playing politics and walk on right direction. Is their any corruption about in Srilankan issue in UN system?

It is a shame that UN cannot bring Sri Lankan regime to justice

Such abuse, as it is happening in Sri Lanka, shall no longer be tolerated by global society. Surprising, indeed, that the brutal moments is immensely ignored by major media.

it's not good job to stop human rights works of U.N

The UN system has badly failed the hundres of thousands of Tamil civilians. Aside from taking urgent action re the civilians in the internment camps (the monsoon is less than 4 weeks away), the UN Secretary General should urgently appoint an empowered and effective Special Envoy to ensure that the Government of Sri Lanka keeps to its commitments and that the international community acts with one voice. The UN should also request, or at least cooperate with, an independent inquiry into its role in this crisis. On 21 July 2008 at about 7:15pm a group of plain clothed persons identified themselves as police and asked Mr. Palaniyandi Shanmugarajah to leave his work at a printing press in Dehiwela, and go with them to record a statement. No charges were made and Shanmugarajah has been missing since. His colleagues tried to make a complaint at the Dehiwala police station, but say that the police did not accept it. The next day the business owner, Mr. Sinnaiah Devanayagam made a complaint at the same station, and then made a statement through a popular Tamil TV channel, Shakthi TV. On his way home he was abducted. According to witnesses, Devanayagam's vehicle was stopped on Vihara lane Wellawatte by a white van and men in plain clothes, who later identified themselves as being from the Criminal Investigation Department of the police. They forced Devanayagam and his driver, a Mr. Rjasighham Chandra Kumar, to go with them, though the driver was released after about 2km. The van had no number plate. Shanmugarajah's wife Anjela lodged a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on September 2, 2008 (HRC 4388/08/L-16). She did not complain to the police because she was aware that complaints had already been made. The NHRC office requested a copy of the police complaint but when Anjela went to get it an officer refused, stating that the complainant must request it personally. Since the complainant is missing the NHRC told her that they would obtain the copy themselves. She has not received news of further action on their part. According to the two women a case was lodged by the Dehiwela police in the Mt. Lavinia Court (B2178/08) last year regarding the abduction. However since no witnesses are willing to come forward the case has not progressed. pls help us

I do not see any abuse of human rights has happend in Sri Lanka. International communities do not understand that Sri Lanka was fighting a guerilla war with the tamil tiger terrorists.
