There is no legitimate reason why the Sri Lankan government should object or oppose the establishment of human rights monitoring commissions established by an impartial body such as the UN unless they have something to hide. Those who have nothing to hide should never be afraid of the truth.

Sri Lankan has failed to protect its own citizens, the Tamils, whereas it is on a genocide mission to root out the Tamils. Tamils are not safe in areas of his and his military or para military commands. They have been subjected to all sorts of human atrocities, no food, shelter, medication, no freedom of speech, restrictions of free movements, even the birds and animals are allowed to move in and out but not the Sri Lankan Tamils.

Please take this urgent action!

Stop blocking a UN human rights monitoring mission in Sri Lanka

Dear Excellency The Srilankan Government has denied the Tamils the basic rights i.e. food, medical supplies fuel, etc getting through to our Tamil people who live in north east freely by land not only that they have colonized the whole region into a military zone this does not allow our Children to have the education they need to fulfill their aspirations without the fear of getting killed by indiscriminate Ariel bombings and shells and artilleries getting fired at them from the ground. Freedom of speech and movement doesn’t exist in Srilanka our people live in open prison and the human rights violations are at the highest level since this Government came to power in this circumstances we kindly request you to intervene and stop this murderess acts which is carried out by the Srilankan Government and to provide a permanent solution for our Tamil People to live in peace in our own Motherland. Tamils are killed and tortured systematically. Churches, and temples are destroyed wwithca sinister motive of erasing the two rligions and make Sri Laka a buddhist sinhala nation.

If the government of SriLanka says that they respect human rights, it should be in deeds but not merely in words. Let there be transperancy, so let the world decide whether we in fact respect rights of all communities in SriLanka and treat them all with dignity.WHile we ask for membership in the UN Human rights council, let us clean up our own house first.

First visited Sri Lanka in l959 on invitation of Bishop Lakdasa de Mel - further visits after 20 years
